Former Champions Harrison Frazar, Steven Alker, Bernhard Langer and Miguel Angel Jimenez to compete in 2024 Dominion Energy Charity Classic

RICHMOND, Virginia – Four former Dominion Energy Charity Classic champions including Harrison Frazar, Steven Alker, Bernard Langer and Miguel Angel Jimenez have all committed to compete at this year’s tournament. The annual PGA TOUR Champions Playoff event will take place October 17-20 at The Country Club of Virginia’s James River Course.

Defending champion Harrison Frazar made the 2023 Dominion Energy Charity Classic his first win on PGA TOUR Champions, which came in his third full season on tour. The Abilene, TX native has been sidelined with a neck injury for much of the 2024 season but returned to action just three weeks ago at the Ascension Charity Classic where he finished T8. He played in 409 tournaments on the PGA TOUR with his solo win coming at the 2011 FedEx St. Jude Classic.

2022 Champion Steven Alker has quickly accumulated eight wins since he arrived on PGA TOUR Champions in 2021. His four wins in 2022 were the most he had in one season, including the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. He went on to capture the season-long Charles Schwab Cup that year. The New Zealand native last won at the 2024 season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai and is currently third in the 2024 Charles Schwab Cup rankings.

The only two-time DECC champion, Bernhard Langer got his wins in Richmond in 2017 and 2021. Langer is the all-time leader in career wins on PGA TOUR Champions with 46 victories. Earlier in 2024, the 67-year-old tore his achilles tendon while playing pickleball. He returned to competition after just three months at the Insperity Invitational presented by United Healthcare where he finished T31. He is currently 16th in the Charles Schwab Cup standings. Langer is a two-time Masters champion (1985 and 1993), qualified for the European Ryder Cup team 10 times and captained the 2004 team.

Miguel Angel Jimenez captured his Dominion Energy Charity Classic victory in 2019 with a tournament record three round score of 198, or 18 under par. Originally from Malaga, Spain, Jimenez has 13 career wins on PGA TOUR Champions with his last coming at the 2022 Boeing Classic. He is 26th in the 2024 Charles Schwab Cup standings.
